Hello and Happy New Year from all of us at R.O.C.K. Missions! We have had an amazing beginning in the last part of 2019, and we are anticipating even more success and growth in 2020.
In the spirit of new beginnings, today I want to share with you our beginning. R.O.C.K. Missions started in August of 2019 with two of our founding members, Candy and Jeff. They decided to go where the people were and deliver food – starting with a small number, only 15. A compassionate undertaking, and I wonder if they knew (even a little bit) what they were about to start.
Don't these pictures speak volumes about how small beginnings can effect huge change?
Out of a desire to help our friends, R.O.C.K. has grown to delivering up to 100 meals each time we go out, twice a week. We are creating our organization from the ground up, growing pains and all, and have a compliment of more people now committed to following that example. Our goal remains the same – helping our friends. Through community support we have a huge supply of clothing, blankets, hygiene products, boots, coats, and many other items some of us take for granted. We are creating bridges between our friends and organizations which can provide them the help they need, and walking with them every step of the way. By giving these people a little bit of compassion and a whole lot of love, it may just be what they need to turn themselves around.
Just look at us now! And this is just a small example of what we put out there each week!
And somehow our shelves, and our hearts, are constantly being filled by our community - YOU! We couldn't do this without any of you, and we are grateful.
So, what's in store for 2020 for R.O.C.K.? Growth! And what do we need? Well, we need you. We need volunteers, we need donations, and we need resources. How can you help us with any of that? Come on out!! We are accepting applications if you'd like to volunteer! If you'd like to partner with us and do some fundraising, drop us a line. If you'd like to support us, please give us a shout. We'd love to have you all on board! Tell your friends and family about us as well, the more hands we have, the more we can help our friends. At the end of the day, helping others is what we're all about.
From our hearts to yours, thank you Chatham-Kent!
